AIDS: THE LOST VOICES
James Caveney Sharp was exposed by Duncan Campbell an investigative journalist and BBC’s Watchdog for exploiting vulnerable AIDS patients by charging them exorbitant fees for an "indefinite cure" for the disease. Alongside Iraqi veterinarian Abdul Jabar Sultan, he targeted not just AIDS patients but also those suffering from cancer and leukaemia, preying on their desperation. The investigation revealed that Sharp had conducted unethical experiments on AIDS patients, even after reputable AIDS specialists warned him that his claims on his ‘treatment’ lacked scientific support and was fundamentally flawed.
SHARP: Struck off Medical Register
His actions appeared to be driven by greed, as he persisted in these morally reprehensible practices until his fraudulent activities were ultimately unveiled. Mr. James Caveney Sharp was subsequently reported to the General Medical Council, where he was struck off the medical register.
In 2018, press reports highlighted his decline, revealing that he had become an alcoholic in the years that followed. These reports also detailed a troubling incident involving one of his sons, who was alleged to have helped himself to his father's bank account. This situation painted a picture of Mr. Sharp as a victim, seemingly on the receiving end of being ‘ripped off, by his own son, himself having previously taken advantage of those suffering from AIDS, many of whom tragically succumbed to their illness.
The bizarre yet chilling story of 20-year-old Mark Lloyd-Flynn reveals a disturbing deception within London's hospitals. Posing as an AIDS research doctor, he gained access to two AIDS wards across three major hospitals, managing to convince both healthcare professionals and vulnerable patients of his supposed credentials. With audacity, he conducted patient assessments, attempted blood draws, and, most alarmingly, altered patients' medication records that were displayed at their bedsides.
Lloyd-Flynn: Court 1988’
This alarming manipulation of medical information ultimately raised suspicion among the doctors who, noticing inconsistencies in patient care, initiated an investigation that led to his apprehension. The unsettling incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities within hospital systems and the catastrophic consequences of infiltrating such sensitive environments.
